Tone Alert Radio Recycling Program
TONE ALERT RADIOS or TARs will no longer work in some areas. TARs were distributed as part of the Chemical Stockpile Emergency Preparedness Program to provide emergency alerts. TARs in Clay, Cleburne, Etowah, St. Clair and Talladega counties as well as Calhoun County’s Protective Action Zones do not provide alerts. TARs in Calhoun County’s Immediate Response Zones and Pink Zones arenot be affected. Do not dispose of your TAR in your household garbage. Alabama Emergency Management Agency will recycle the battery and other materials in the TAR. Call 256.236.8642 to learn more about recycling your TAR. Look for the red CSEPP recycling bin!
